Hello, Islanders!
Long time, no see! We hope you are all doing well. We have decided to create a blog post explaining how C4S2 will differentiate from any previous Golden Island season. Now of course, there will be no spoilers for map changes, storyline, etc.
Now of course, to start off:
C4S2 will be a smaller map than usual
As you know, we are developing C4S2 with Unreal Editor for Fortnite. We have ultimately decided it'd be best we made the map smaller than usual, to both support our decision to disable building, but to also make rounds be faster to start and end. We'll be closely monitoring how rounds perform with this change to see what we could do in the forseeable future.
Gameplay
Next off, let's talk about gameplay. In the coming season, gameplay will be somewhat similar to every season, but with some changes. We are disabling building, so that players can have more 'open' combat with their only defenses being the environment, and items that they can use to heal or to get away.
As you also know, we will not be going by Fortnite: Battle Royale's loot pool for C4S2. We have a completely custom lootpool, alongside our own version of 'chests' (They're actually boxes but they'll do haha). We will be very closely monitoring performance and will take in feedback -- weapons and items will also rotate in and out throughout the season to both test what players may like or dislike and to add more constant change every so often.
